A group of children and a Gladiator have come together in Mitcham to call for a redesign of London’s streets to make them safe to play in.
Charity, London Sport, hosted the gathering at the town’s market to mark the next phase of its More Ball Games campaign. The aim is to get councils to remove the barriers that prevent children from playing out in the street. Montell Douglas, Olympic sprinter and star of BBC ‘Gladiators,’ took part in a kick-about to show her support. Merton is aiming to become London’s first Borough of Sport.
