Palm Beach GOP Backs Caruso as State Party Withdraws Support
The county party says Caruso is the only Republican constitutional officer and is fighting to clear his name as he faces molestation and related charges.

- Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended Caruso following his August 18 arrest by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on five felony counts, including kidnapping and molestation of a child under 5.
- The Florida GOP publicly withdrew support after the arrest, though GOP Chairman Carl Cascio told the Miami Herald the committee "has the power and duty" under state law to campaign for nominees.
- Caruso refuses to withdraw from the race, stating through spokesperson Juda Engelmayer, "I maintain my innocence and remain a candidate" for the November election.
- Caruso, who faces Democrat Yvette Drucker in the election, was released on $160,000 bail set by Circuit Judge A. James Craner in Orange County.
