Huge snowfalls, in the midst of spring, have caused disruptions in several Alpine regions in Switzerland, Italy and France, where one person was seriously injured in an avalanche, prompting authorities to take exceptional measures, AFP reports.
Several French resorts have announced that they have closed their ski areas for the day due to the risk of avalanche, which reaches the maximum level in several massifs. Switzerland and Italy have also been hit by "exceptional" snowfalls.
