Line of severe thunderstorms sweeps across Upstate SC, causes widespread power outages

Severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for most of Upstate South Carolina until 9 p.m. Wind gusts were forecasted to reach 70 mph late Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered showers and and thunderstorms are expected until Monday night. According to Duke Energy's outage map, there were still 33,567 customers in SC without power at 5:40 p.M.
