Adrian Dunbar Reveals Why Filming for Line of Duty Series 7 Suddenly Paused
Adrian Dunbar said the cast has been drenched by persistent rain, and Martin Compston suffered an on-set injury during filming.
Production of the BBC crime drama Line of Duty paused in Belfast earlier this month after violent disorder swept city streets following a knife attack, confirmed by actor Adrian Dunbar, who plays Ted Hastings.
Returning for a seventh series, the drama began production five years after its 2021 conclusion, with cast and crew working on streets throughout Belfast to produce the new season.
Beyond the riots, co-star Martin Compston suffered an injury while filming with an Airsoft gun; persistent rainfall has remained the production's greatest obstacle, leaving the cast "drenched" while shooting exterior scenes.
The synopsis states: "Anticorruption work has never been more difficult and in this challenging climate Steve Arnott, Kate Fleming and Ted Hastings are assigned their most sensitive case so far."
Reports suggest a new villain will likely be introduced to intertwine with the storyline of "H," who was identified as Detective Superintendent Ian Buckells in series six.
