After eight years, Linda Nooitmeer is leaving the National Institute for Dutch Slavery Past and Legacy NiNsee. She was closely involved in the creation of the apology for the slavery past.
Linda Nooitmeer will leave her position as chair of the National Institute for Dutch Slavery Past and Heritage (NiNsee) next year. She confirmed reports by the NOS. Nooitmeer fulfilled that role for eight years and believes it is time to focus more on her job as a business economist. She believes that much has been achieved in those eight years.
In eight years, she has put the history of slavery on the agenda and the prime minister and the king have apologized. "This is irreversible."
