TRAPPE, Md. – A lightning strike Tuesday night sparked a fire at Faith Chapel United Methodist in Trappe. Lightning strike sparks house fire in Carroll County

A house in Carroll County was one of at least two struck by lightning during Tuesday’s storms, officials said. Shortly after 4:30 p.m., lightning struck a home on Orbrecht Road in Sykesville, causing an estimated $100,000 in damage, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.
