- Apple TV+ has commissioned a 10-episode drama series inspired by Lars Kepler’s novels, featuring a cast that includes the lead actors known for their roles in Ray Donovan, Atlanta, and Boardwalk Empire. Production is scheduled to start this summer in Pittsburgh.
- The series adapts Lars Kepler’s bestselling Joona Linna novels, following Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier turned detective who moves from Philadelphia to a small Pennsylvania town seeking peace.
- Jonah Lynn’s new life with his family in a small Western Pennsylvania town is threatened by Jurek Walter, a dangerously intelligent serial killer portrayed by Stephen Graham, who endangers everything Jonah values.
- Jonah sends his adopted daughter Saga Bauer, an FBI agent portrayed by Zazie Beetz, up against Jurek in a desperate search for the killer’s last missing victim.
- The project, co-showrun by Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin and executive produced by Tim Van Patten and cast members, reflects Kepler’s global success with over 18 million copies sold in 40 languages.
