Pawnee County could be on the receiving end of 5.72 million pounds of manure daily from a proposed 88,000-head cattle feedlot several miles south of Larned. At an average 65 pounds/cow/day, that’s a lot of cattle manure to contend with, on top of the estimated 3.84 million pounds of “output” from the existing two feedlots just south of Larned if they were to operate at their full 59,000 head permitted capacity.
