Letter: Voter ID argument relies on flawed comparison | Honolulu Star-Advertiser
The letter supporting voter ID missed Kokua Line’s explanation of the difference between “Real ID” and proof of citizenship (“Dem hypocrisy over voting regulations,” Star-Advertiser, March 22). Real ID proves one is in the country legally, but does not prove citizenship, so would be insufficient to meet the requirements of the proposed SAVE Act. If it were that simple, I’d totally agree, but that is not the case.
