Letter: America is a Constitutional Republic

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of  America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.  (Emphasis is mine.) We pledge our allegiance to the flag – at the start of a meeting and in schools around the Nation.  It’s a poignant moment, a long-held tradition.
