ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS have agreed on a draft law on reformed social assistance. The draft provides for stricter rules for the economically active with a focus on immigrants. In the future, there will be minimum and maximum rates as well as room for manoeuvre for the federal states, while fixed instead of maximum amounts will apply for the basic amount.
The tripartite coalition agrees on reform from 2027 onwards. Full benefit is only available for the economically active through integration and work supplements, new child rates should bind the countries more closely.
