Legion baseball: NLS heads to the state tournament

SPICER — The New London-Spicer American Legion baseball team is headed to the state tournament. Posts 545/537 beat the St. Cloud Chutes 3-2 in the championship game of the Division II Central Sub-State on Saturday at the Green Lake Diamonds. NLS plays La Crescent at 4 p.m. Thursday in Ely in the state quarterfinals. La Crescent won the Southeast Sub-State 8-4 by beating St. Charles on Saturday.
