Local Community Groups Invited to Apply to Co-Op's Local Community Fund for Share of £3.5m Fund
The fund has already supported 40,000 causes since 2016, and members can back local projects through the Co-op membership app.
Co-Op opened applications for its £3.5 million Local Community Fund, inviting charities and community groups across the UK to apply for grants supporting grassroots projects.
Founded over 180 years ago, the consumer-owned co-operative serves more than 7 million members and has supported 40,000 causes since launching the fund in 2016.
Eligible projects focus on improving food access, promoting mental wellbeing, strengthening community cohesion, creating opportunities for young people, and building sustainable futures.
David Luckin, Head of Social Value and Community Engagement at Co-op, said "co-operation and people working together can be very powerful" in delivering local impact amid community challenges.
Community groups can submit applications through the Co-op website before the June 24, 2026, deadline to compete for a share of the available funding.
