Lebanon PM says working to get Israeli troop withdrawal

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said Sunday he is working to stop the Israel-Hezbollah war, even as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told troops the fight in south Lebanon is far from over.
During a visit to troops Sunday, Netanyahu announced Israeli forces had eliminated an invasion threat, stating: "The war continues, including within the security zone in Lebanon."
The Lebanese Red Cross condemned an Israeli drone strike on Sunday as "clear and blatant violations of all provisions of international law," after the attack killed one of its paramedics.
Lebanon's health ministry reported at least six people were killed in Sunday's strikes, including the paramedic, while a separate Israeli attack on Qana killed five civilians and wounded 25 others.
Ahead of planned talks in Washington on Tuesday, officials will continue efforts "to negotiate to stop the war," as Netanyahu demands the "dismantling of Hezbollah's weapons" for lasting peace.
