Leaders, organizations, and students honor local Vietnam veteran during Military Banner Program

WHEELING, W.V. (WTRF) -- Local leaders, veteran organizations and students from the surrounding area gathered in Garden Park to honor Wheeling native Russell McLaughlin during the Wheeling Military Banner Program.   McLaughlin served in the C Company 227th assault helicopter battalion in South Vietnam.   He was killed in action six months into his service, and his name can be found Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Wall.  His sister Joyce Knouse says v…
