- Hussle's longtime ties to the block through business and outreach explain the decision to honor him, as he sold mixtapes there, opened Marathon Clothing in 2017, and focused on philanthropy, Lauren London said he envisioned this honor long before his death.
- The dedication drew family and officials, including Blacc Sam, who said `I think that everybody who knew Hussle knows that Hussle loved the area. Crenshaw and Slauson meant everything to bro`.
