- Late-Night television hosts Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver are launching a podcast called "Strike Force Five" to raise funds for their striking staff writers. The podcast will feature private chats between the hosts, who have been meeting weekly to discuss the ongoing Hollywood labor disputes caused by the writers' strike.
- The writers' strike, initiated by the 11,500 members of the Writers Guild of America in May, has resulted in late-night shows airing reruns for nearly four months. The SAG-AFTRA actors union, with 160,000 members, has also joined the strike. The podcast aims to shed light on the complexities of the strikes and support the striking writers.
- "Strike Force Five" will consist of at least 12 episodes and will be available on major podcast platforms. All proceeds from the podcast will go to the writers of the late-night shows. The hosts, who serve as rotating moderators, hope that the podcast will provide insight and entertainment throughout the remainder of the strike.
