LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, JUL 24 – The festival features historic steam locomotives, model train exhibits, and interactive booths highlighting nearly a century of rail history, organizers said.
- On September 20 and 21, the free Train Festival at Los Angeles Union Station runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., celebrating rail history and community fun.
- Nearly a century after opening in 1939, Los Angeles Union Station has served travelers and illustrates railroad equipment from 1927 to today, highlighting its historic significance.
- Among special attractions, the Santa Fe 3751 steam locomotive showcases early rail power while children can don train conductor hats and pose with a restored Railway Express Agency truck.
- `We're proud to make those connections possible,` said Stephanie Wiggins, Metro CEO, and the event features live entertainment and giveaways sponsored by Metro, Amtrak and Metrolink.
