London police detail biggest fentanyl bust in city history
Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid 100 times more potent than morphine, has fueled a toxic drug crisis across Canada during the past decade. There have been 50,928 apparent opioid toxicity deaths reported between January 2016 and September 2024, averaging 21 deaths a day, according to Statistics Canada.
