- This 'Spring Mission 2026' follows an earlier 2025 attempt where Israeli forces intercepted 42 boats, detaining and deporting hundreds of activists including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg.
- Activists loaded ships on Saturday with essential supplies including water, fuel, and food, addressing a crisis where over 1.6 million Gazans face hunger and 1.5 million lack shelter.
- Fleet spokesperson Maria Elena Dalia said the ships will initially head toward Greece due to regional tensions, while 1,000 people simultaneously join the North African Sumud Land Convoy.
- Participants from diverse backgrounds aim to raise awareness and support for Gaza, with activist Abdel Latif Fasli stating their objective is "for the people of Gaza to gain their freedom.
