Lack of European transparency

One can defend with conviction the mission of non-governmental organizations in an open society, but one cannot demand from a politician whom almost the entire third sector would like to destroy at all costs that he will like, value and protect institutions so directed against him and financed from abroad. The lack of transparency on the part of the European Commission and the Council of the European Union (EU) in accessing the documents on which their decisions and legislation are based is an endemic problem that has failed to correct the judgments of the EU Court of Justice, nor ten years of repeated warnings from the European Ombudsman, Emily O’Reilly, nor complaints from civil organisations, journalists’ associations and the media.
