LA28 Unveils Official Slogan for 2028 Olympic Games
LA28 says the motto is a rallying cry for athletes, volunteers and fans as it releases a 60-second campaign film.
- On Wednesday, the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games committee unveiled "Stars Align" as the official slogan for the 2028 event, echoing the "Stars in Motion" emblem from the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.
- LA28 Chief Marketing Officer Alex Merchan described the slogan as a "rallying cry" grounded in "effort and commitment," extending the message beyond the estimated 15,000 competing athletes to volunteers and local workers.
- The campaign debuted with a 60-second video set to the Red Hot Chili Peppers' hit "Can't Stop," showcasing Southern California landmarks including the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory.
- With more than 6 million Olympic tickets already sold, LA28 aims to exceed the international broadcast records set by the Paris Games, which used the motto "Games Wide Open."
- The Olympic Games are scheduled to open on July 14, 2028, under the Southern California sun, while the torch relay will unite all 50 states for the first time in campaign history.
