Hyrox Grew From 3,000 Competitors to 1.4 Million. Now Its Founders Are Reclaiming Majority Ownership
Hyrox said the deal values the company at about €600 million as it expands to more than 100 events and 1.4 million participants.
On Tuesday, Hyrox co-founders and a consortium led by American private equity firm L Catterton bought back Infront Sports' majority stake in the Hamburg-based Hyrox fitness-racing group.
Swiss firm Infront first invested in the business in 2019 and became its majority owner in 2022, overseeing Hyrox's expansion from a niche fitness challenge into a global phenomenon.
Hyrox expanded to more than 100 events in more than 30 countries, attracting over 1.4 million participants and more than 1.5 million spectators during the 2025-26 season, according to Infront.
Media reports value the deal at €600 million, while Hyrox co-founder Moritz Fuerste, a double Olympic hockey gold medallist for Germany, called it "a pivotal next step in the rapid evolution of the Hyrox success story."
Aiming for a place in the 2032 and 2036 Games, the sport has set its sights on the Olympics, with Hyrox India head Deepak Raj stating the organization's goals in August.
