Gene Raymond Worley was born July 26, 1932, in Decatur, Nebraska, to Adonas “Don” and Dora Worley, whom Gene always referred to as Mama. Gene was the youngest of four boys, Don “Skiziks,” Boyd “Putsy,” and Paul, who tragically passed away as an infant. They grew up in rural Decatur.
