The Thuringian AfD failed with its attempt to push Prime Minister Mario Voigt out of office. Initiator Björn Höcke had to listen to some of the political opponents before.
The AfD in Thuringia failed with a vote of distrust against Prime Minister Voigt from the CDU. In the state parliament in Erfurt, 33 MPs voted for AfD Group leader Höcke as new Prime Minister. 45 votes would have been needed to vote. Höcke had justified the vote of distrust with the decision of the Technical University of Chemnitz to withdraw Voigt's doctorate.
The AfD parliamentary group in the Thuringian state parliament failed in its constructive vote of no confidence against Minister-President Voigt (CDU). Only 33 members of parliament voted for Höcke as the new Minister-President.
With a vote of distrust, Björn Höcke and the AfD wanted to overthrow the Thuringian Prime Minister - but the plan did not work out, Mario Voigt remains in office. It is not the first gossip for the AfD leader in the Erfurt Landtag.
The constructive vote of distrust by the untrustworthy Björn Höcke against the Prime Minister of the CDU has failed, but there is an embarrassment.
A strong Thuringian AfD faction has repeatedly given the government sensitive situations in the Landtag: Prime Minister Mario Voigt has now survived a vote of distrust. But the power struggle continues.
