Michael Triegel is restoring the missing central panel of a Cranach altarpiece in Naumburg Cathedral. Paul Smaczny's film "Triegel Meets Cranach" accompanies the Leipzig painter on this ambitious project, bridging the gap between Renaissance, faith, and the present day.
Painter Michael Tregel paints exactly in the style of the old masters, but people of today. For the Naumburg Cathedral he created an altar – which was in the way of the Unesco world heritage. Now starts "Tregel meets Cranach" in the cinema.
