Kim Mathers fails to show up for court hearing for two impaired driving cases
Judge William Hackel III said Mathers could forfeit $5,500 in bond after missing hearings in both drunk driving cases.
On Wednesday, Macomb County District Court Judge William Hackel III issued a bench warrant for Kim Mathers after she failed to appear for sentencing in a February drunk driving case and a pretrial hearing in a May felony DUI case.
Mathers faces a felony charge for a May 13 incident in Chesterfield Township, where she allegedly struck a Jeep Cherokee while intoxicated, marking her third DUI offense under Michigan law.
Scott, the ex-wife of rapper Eminem, pleaded no contest on May 11 to a February hit-and-run involving a parked Dodge Ram and impaired driving with children in her SUV.
Prosecutors moved to forfeit her $5,000 and $500 bonds; attorney Camilla Barkovic appeared at the 23 Mile Road courthouse but departed before the warrant was issued.
It remains unclear whether Mathers is in a residential treatment program ordered by the court, though Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido stated, "Driving under the influence is not a lapse in judgment.
