Kids running lemonade stand robbed by armed thieves in Boston
Police said the teen is expected to face armed robbery and firearm charges after officers recovered the cash box empty.
On Wednesday, two juvenile suspects allegedly robbed a children's lemonade stand at gunpoint in South Boston, according to Boston Police investigating the incident.
After making several passes, the suspects approached the victims asking about Apple Pay before grabbing a cash box containing roughly $50, police said. One suspect displayed a black firearm.
Authorities identified the suspects as about 14 and 11 years old, both wearing balaclava-type face masks and black shirts. They fled toward Dorchester Street.
Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn condemned the 'brazen crime,' stating the robbery violated the 'innocence' of the neighborhood and reflected 'serious public safety issues.' Flynn called for increased police presence.
