Center Party's municipal election candidate convicted of possession of child pornography - came as a surprise to the party

The Kuopio city center municipal organization plans to discuss Tauno Väisänen's expulsion from the party. Väisänen's conviction dates back to 2022.

There are hundreds of candidates in regional and municipal elections who have been convicted of crimes. Such candidates can be found in all parliamentary parties, but there are clearly more of them on the lists of the Finns Party than in other parties.

One of the defendants was a provincial deputy, the evidence to be presented in the debate.

The trial also includes the brother of the former legislator, Sebasti n Kiczka. Both of them have been detained since August of last year.

If convicted, they could face up to 15 years of effective imprisonment.

As planned, this morning the oral trial began against former provincial deputy Germán Kiczka (44) and his brother Sebastián (47), charged with possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (Masi).
