- With Oct. 11 approaching, Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said he will "let the week play out" before deciding if Shedeur Sanders will be the No. 2 against the Steelers.
- After the Browns traded Joe Flacco to Cincinnati on Tuesday, Stefanski said the deal "took us by surprise" and left Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders as the only active quarterbacks.
- Sanders' path to the roster included falling from early first-round buzz to the fifth round this year, moving from QB4 in camp to preseason starter and serving as emergency QB3 with mostly scout-team work.
