Kelly Osbourne "Doesn't Agree" with Sharon Osbourne's Politics
Kelly Osbourne said she does not agree with her mother’s support for Tommy Robinson after Sharon was dropped by Centrepoint, the charity said.
- On Tuesday night, Kelly Osbourne, 41, rejected her mother Sharon Osbourne's support for activist Tommy Robinson during an NTAs red carpet interview, stating, "I don't agree with my mum, no. That's one thing that I can say I don't agree with her on."
- Sharon Osbourne's support for Robinson emerged in May when she replied to his social media post promoting the Unite The Kingdom rally in London with "See you at the march." The homelessness charity Centrepoint subsequently severed ties, stating, "This sort of event does not align with our values."
- On The Sage Steele Show, Sharon compared allowing under-18s to transition to "saying oh you're feeling Japanese today, so you're Japanese it's insanity." Kelly expressed sadness about these comments, saying, "Honestly, sad," and credited the trans community with teaching her about bravery.
- Despite their family bond, Kelly acknowledged the difficulty of disagreeing with her mother, telling Attitude, "It's hard because I love my mum, but I also have to understand that she's entitled to her own opinions as well. And it's really hard when it comes to politics and things like that, but that's not for me."
- Centrepoint clarified that Sharon "is not an official ongoing ambassador of Centrepoint, and we have no plans to work together in the future," while Entertainment Weekly sought comment from Sharon's representatives about the public divide between mother and daughter.
