The latest news about the United Kingdom: In an attempt to get younger people more involved in voting for elected office in the United Kingdom, the country intends to reduce the voting age to 16 years. The change will ultimately apply to all forms of elections, although at present only decentralised elections (i.e. local council elections in Scotland and Wales and Scottish Parliament and Senedd elections) include those over the age of 16 years.
