KATSEYE, sombr, Laufey & More Vie for Breakthrough of the Year at First-Ever TikTok Awards: Nominations Announced
TikTok's inaugural U.S. Awards on Dec. 18 will honor breakthrough artists and feature live performances, with fan voting open from Nov. 18 to Dec. 5, officials said.
- On Thursday, Dec. 18, TikTok will stage its inaugural U.S. TikTok Awards at the Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles, featuring the 'New Era, New Icons' theme with live performances and a red carpet.
- After hosting events internationally last year, TikTok is launching the awards to celebrate breakthrough artists and engage fans via voting on the TikTok Awards in-app hub from Nov. 18 through Dec. 5.
- The shortlist features Alex Warren, KATSEYE, Laufey, Ravyn Lenae and sombr for breakthrough artist, with Alix Earle, Caleb Hearon, Reece Feldman and Keith Lee among additional nominees.
- Fans will be able to watch live on @TikTok and Tubi, the official streaming partner, with the ceremony available on demand the next day on Tubi.
- With Grammy announcements imminent, Grammy nods will be revealed on Friday Nov. 7 while Instagram recently launched its Rings awards judged by Spike Lee, Marc Jacobs and Adam Mosseri.
