Kansas crimes falls in 2025 as state hit historically low rate

Crime in Kansas fell about 5% last year, giving the state the lowest crime rate reported in 57 years, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation reported late Monday. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation reports that so-called index crimes, including murder, rape, robbery, burglary, motor vehicle theft, and arson, dropped 3,857 to 66,947 in 2025.
