Overcrowding and jostling preceded the electrocution tragedy near a Ganapati pandal in Kalachowki neighbourhood in Mumbai's Lalbaug area early Sunday, which claimed the lives of an eight-year-old girl and a woman, eyewitnesses and locals claimed.
Eight-year-old Ragini Yadav and 33-year-old Sujata Thottiti died after being electrocuted at the Maha Ganapati Mandap at Kala Chowki in Mumbai. Three people were seriously injured in the incident and are undergoing treatment. This is the third major accident during the Ganeshotsav, which has raised questions about safety measures.
