Jonathan Taylor Thomas Reunites with TV Family From 'Home Improvement' in Rare Photo
Richardson shared a rare photo of the former Home Improvement castmates, who last worked together more than 20 years ago.
On Wednesday, July 29, Home Improvement actress Patricia Richardson shared an Instagram photo reuniting with former TV sons Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Taran Noah Smith, marking a rare public appearance more than two decades after the show's 1991–1999 run.
Richardson played Jill Taylor, wife of Tim Allen's character Tim Taylor, on the ABC sitcom. Smith and Thomas portrayed their sons Mark and Randy across 179 episodes of the beloved 1990s comedy.
Stepping back from Hollywood to attend college, Thomas later transitioned into writing and directing. He told People in 2013, "I never took the fame too seriously. It was a great period in my life, but it doesn't define me."
Tim Allen cited "personality problems" among the former TV sons as a barrier to a Home Improvement reboot, specifically complicating efforts to involve Zachery Ty Bryan, who played eldest brother Brad.
Bryan currently serves a 16-month sentence in a California jail stemming from a 2024 DUI arrest, while an Oregon judge sentenced him to 19 months for violating probation on a 2023 domestic violence conviction.
