To solve tasks together can connect people not only mentally but also physically more closely: researchers at the University of Vienna have shown that the movements of people who previously worked together are much more synchronised than with those who worked alone. Thus, the joint action acts like a "social glue".
When two people solve a task together, their movements then synchronise much more strongly than with two people who previously worked alone. These new insights into how collaboration and social bonding can influence spontaneous synchronization have been achieved by researchers at the University of Vienna in an experiment. Obviously, the joint solving of a task functions as a "social adhesive", they report in the journal "PLOS One".
