Spotify renews multiyear deal with podcaster Joe Rogan
The new multiyear licensing agreement keeps the show on Spotify, where it has 18 million followers and remains the platform’s most followed podcast.
On Thursday, Spotify and Joe Rogan signed a new multiyear licensing agreement, extending their partnership that began in 2020 while keeping the podcast widely distributed across platforms.
Originally exclusive to Spotify in 2020, the podcast expanded in 2024 to YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon as part of a strategic shift toward wider accessibility.
The Wall Street Journal reported the deal carries an estimated earnout of $250 million, while the show maintains more than 18 million followers on Spotify and over 21 million on YouTube.
Jordan Newman, Head of Content Partnerships at Spotify, said the show resonates with a "massive global audience," noting it topped all platforms in 2025.
Since launching in December 2009, the show has built more than 2,500 episodes featuring guests ranging from Tesla CEO Elon Musk to Donald Trump, solidifying its long-form conversation format.
