Jodie Marsh Denies Assaulting Man at Fripps Farm Animal Rescue
Police say the charge follows an alleged confrontation over filming of animals at her sanctuary, where Marsh cares for about 250 rescued animals.
On Friday, former glamour model Jodie Marsh appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court and pleaded not guilty to common assault and public order offenses stemming from an incident earlier this year at her Lindsell sanctuary.
Authorities allege that on January 16, Marsh acted aggressively and made verbal threats toward Christopher Hynes and Susan Hammond at her Fripps Farm sanctuary; Marsh denies the accusations, maintaining no injury occurred during the confrontation.
Contending that the altercation stemmed from neighborly disputes, Marsh claims footage was manipulated to make her animals appear "skeletal." She stated, "I put my hand on his neck because I leaned in to whisper to him."
Deputy district judge Rhys Rosser released Marsh on unconditional bail, scheduling her trial for May 7, 2027, at Colchester Magistrates' Court. The common assault charge carries a maximum sentence of six months in prison.
Fripps Farm currently houses around 250 rescued animals, including alpacas and goats; while a judge previously ruled she "genuinely cares" for them, the sanctuary faces "considerable animosity" from members of the local community.
