JetBlue Launches Its First Lounge with the Debut of BlueHouse at JFK

JetBlue’s 9,000-square-foot BlueHouse lounge offers access for Mint business class and elite flyers with capacity for 140 guests and partnerships with local beverage brands.

  • On Dec. 18 at 5 a.m., JetBlue Airways will open BlueHouse, its first airport lounge, at John F. Kennedy International Airport's Terminal 5.
  • JetBlue says the move fits its JetForward strategy to add premium, customer-centric offerings supporting a shift toward high-end leisure travel and a profitability push.
  • The 9,000-square-foot, two-floor space features local partners Union Square Events, Joe Coffee, The Greats of Craft and Please Don't Tell, with access limited to Mint, Mosaic 4 and JetBlue Premier World Elite Mastercard holders, charging $39 for extra guests.
  • Beginning in February, JetBlue Airways will sell annual and day passes but said basic-economy ticket holders are ineligible; it plans a second BlueHouse at Boston Logan International Airport next year.
  • With rivals and card issuers competing for premium travelers, JetBlue Airways expects its 140-capacity BlueHouse lounge to deepen TrueBlue loyalty and finance future lounges as credit-card uptake grows.
