On April 21, law student and bureaucrat Jamie Ding from Lawrenceville, New Jersey, extended his Jeopardy winning streak to 28 games, earning $21,601 for a cumulative total of $774,601.
Surpassing Cris Pannullo on Monday, Ding entered his 28th game ranked among the top five regular game-play winners with $753,000 in prior earnings.
Facing opponents Max Ernst from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Lydia Sekscenski from Wallingford, Connecticut, Ding led the game early and entered the final round with $17,600.
During Final Jeopardy, Ding wagered $4,001 to secure the win, while Sekscenski ended with $400 and Ernst finished with $19,800 after a $9,000 wager.
With this victory, Ding moved into eighth place on the Highest-Winnings All-Time Including Tournaments list, sitting just ahead of Victoria Groce, who holds $772,801 in winnings.
