Nvidia, SK Group Unveil $500 Billion-Plus AI Data Centers Initiative, Memory Partnership

- On Friday in San Francisco, Nvidia Corp. Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang announced a $500 billion partnership with SK Group, including construction of large-scale data centers and co-development of next-generation AI memory.
- President Lee Jae Myung met with Huang during a two-day San Francisco trip aimed at promoting AI investment and securing critical memory supply for Nvidia's advanced processors and systems.
- Nvidia enterprise vice president Raj Mirpuri said, "The expansion will include a co-develop opportunity for us on the next-generation SK Hynix AI memory, and this will help us secure a stable supply of HBM memory."
- Beyond the SK Group deal, Nvidia announced plans to co-develop a self-driving Genesis sedan with Hyundai Motor Group and invest $1 billion in Naver, targeting capacity requiring 2 gigawatts of power.
- Data centers associated with the partnership are expected to come online in 2027, providing customers access to AI computing capacity while SK Hynix, which listed on the Nasdaq earlier this month, finances infrastructure development.
