DC STUDIOS, AUG 7 – James Gunn continues to lead DC Studios' Super-Family franchise after Superman's $550 million global success, with the next film set for release in June 2026, Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed.
- According to the earnings call, James Gunn will write and direct the next Super-Family movie, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav confirmed.
- Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav said Superman’s release marked “the beginning of a new era for DC Studios,” igniting to $125 million domestically in early July and reaching $550 million globally.
- Last weekend, Superman added $13.855 million domestically, reaching $316.211 million with a 44% hold, and the film earned $550 million worldwide.
