Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin Joins Jonathan Toews, Steve Yzerman, More in Rare Stanley Cup Final, Olympics History
Jaccob Slavin became the second American and eighth player to win both an Olympic gold medal and the NHL Stanley Cup in the same year.
Ken Morrow was the first American to accomplish this feat during the 1980 Miracle on Ice Olympic team and the New York Islanders dynasty.
Morrow described himself as a trivia question for years, being the only player to win both honors in the same year at the time.
Other players who have achieved this are Canadian, including Steve Yzerman, Brendan Shanahan, Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, and Drew Doughty.
