İSKİ announced that the water lines damaged due to the construction of skyscrapers in Sarıyer were quickly repaired and uninterrupted water support was provided to citizens with tankers.
Scenes reminiscent of the water shortages of the 90s were experienced in Sarıyer. Following the collapse of a road as a result of the collapse of a retaining wall of a construction site, water has been distributed to citizens by tankers for a few days due to a fault in the clean water line. While some citizens had difficulty carrying water canisters, neighborhood residents reacted to the incident.
On May 3, a road collapse occurred on Eski Büyükdere Street in Sarıyer Maslak, Istanbul, when a retaining wall of a construction site collapsed, paralyzing the area. After the collapse, the street was closed to traffic, and water, natural gas and electricity outages occurred in the Ayazağa, Maslak and Pınar neighborhoods. While a tanker queue formed in Ayazağa due to the water outage, citizens reacted to the CHP Sarıyer Municipality and İSKİ.
