At the home of Tokuei Azama (84) in Nakamine, Uruma City, Okinawa Prefecture, a 3-meter-tall tree is bearing volleyball-sized fruits (see photo). Mr. Azama says, "About 10 years ago, a friend gave me a sapling, and I planted it. About five years later, it started bearing one or two fruits every year. When I asked people what it was, no one knew."
