New stage in the rise of cybercrime. This time in Italy. Tens of thousands of tourist identity papers scans were stolen on Italian hotel servers and put on sale on the dark web, alerted the Italian Digital Agency on Thursday, August 14.
Several thousand high-resolution scans of identity documents were stolen from customers when they were registered.
A hacker stole more than 100,000 high-resolution copies of identity documents made when customers arrived in these hotels.
