Drone explosions, air raids, fire attacks: Poland, Romania and the Republic of Moldova are now regularly part of Russian attacks against Ukraine. Governments clearly intend to do so.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) points out that "Europe still operates within a peaceful paradigm," but the same cannot be said about Russia. "This does not mean, however, that a full-scale war between Russia and NATO is inevitable, much less that it is imminent," the experts add. They do, however, point out that the Kremlin will do much to achieve its four goals, one of which is the creation of a "greater Russia."
Several recent incidents in Europe, including drone incursions and acts of sabotage, have been perpetrated by, or probably related to, Russia.
ISW analysts warn that hostile strikes on western Ukrainian border crossings, downing of Ggerber drones in Moldova and Romania, and sabotage in Poland are part of the Kremlin's unified strategy to test EU and NATO defenses.
