Israel Strikes Lebanon as Authorities Report 380 Killed Since Truce
Lebanon said 380 people have been killed since the ceasefire as Israeli forces struck Hezbollah targets and sent troops into the Litani River area.
On Tuesday, May 12, Israel intensified strikes on south Lebanon, where 380 people have been killed since the April 17 ceasefire began, Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine reported.
Israeli troops continue operating behind a 'yellow line' 10 kilometers north of the border, issuing fresh evacuation warnings for southern villages despite the ongoing truce.
The conflict has left 1,122 people wounded since the ceasefire, including 108 emergency and health workers among the dead; 16 hospitals have been damaged, Nassereddine said.
Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem vowed to turn the battlefield into 'hell' for Israeli forces, rejecting disarmament talks ahead of Washington meetings later this week.
Meanwhile, Israel's parliament passed a law establishing a military tribunal to try hundreds of militants from the October 7, 2023, attack, with the Knesset backing the measure with 93 votes.
Israeli air strikes in Lebanon have killed 380 people since the cease-fire. New talks between Lebanon and Israel with a view to peace negotiations will take place in Washington on Thursday and Friday.
